Dale Raymond Grisham, of Arcola, Missouri,

Son of Raymond Elbert Grisham,

Son of Herman Elbert Grisham,

Son of William Latham Grisham, who fought for the Union,

Son of Joseph Van Grisham, who moved the family to Missouri,

Son of John Thompson Grisham Jr.,

Son of John Thompson Grisham, the first to be born West of the Appalachian Mountains,

Son of Samuel Gresham, who changed the E to an I and moved his family west from Virginia during the American War for Independence,

passed from this Earth on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in his home at the age of 79.

 He was born on July 29, 1945 in Greenfield, Missouri, to Raymond and Lillian (Divine) Grisham. Dale graduated from Greenfield High School. He was united in marriage to Carolyn L. Farmer on November 6, 1965 in Stockton, Missouri.  

Dale was a dairy farmer, a crop farmer, and raised beef cattle.  He loved to play, and had a passion for, baseball and softball.  Dale enjoyed watching baseball, especially his St. Louis Cardinals.  He was an avid deer hunter and quail hunter. Dale also liked to play snooker.

 Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond and Lillian Grisham; and his loving wife, Carolyn Grisham.

Survivors include his two sons, Bryan Grisham and Brent Grisham and his wife, Laura; four grandchildren: Adam Grisham and wife, Kourtney; Arek Grisham and wife, Baylee; Macie Grisham; and Katie Grisham; and four great-grandchildren, Emily Grisham, Lucas Grisham, Elsie Grisham, and Rawlings Grisham.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Arcola Christian Church. Burial followed in Arcola Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. until service time at the church.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arcola Christian Church or to the Arcola Hickory Grove Cemetery.
