James ‘Jimmy’ Adams

August 06, 2025

James “Jimmy” Lee Adams, 82, of Greenfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 19, 1943, Jimmy lived a full and faithful life grounded in family, tradition, and his unwavering devotion to the Lord. A lifelong Baptist and devoted member of Main Street Baptist Church, his faith was the cornerstone of how he lived and loved.
On May 5, 1962, he married the love of his life, Brenda Lynne Hayward. Together, they shared over 63 wonderful years, raising a family rooted in love, respect, and deep connection.
Jimmy was a proud and loving father to Tracy Montgomery and her husband, Phil, of Nixa, Missouri; Lance Adams and his wife, Jill, of Carl Junction, Missouri; and Andy Adams and his husband, Damon, of Milton, Delaware. His legacy lives on through his six beloved grandchildren: Kenzie Droke (Daniel), Landon Adams (Katie), Jansen Adams (Courtney), Kelsey Ewing (Robbe), Austin Haist, and Kellen Adams (Claire), along with his eight great-grandchildren, who were his greatest joy and constant source of pride.
He is also survived by his brother, John Adams, and wife, Cheryl, of Florida.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Geraldine Adams; his in-laws, Clyde and Blanche Hayward; and his grandson, Gabriel Haist.
A man of simple pleasures and deep faith, Jimmy found peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand and joy on the golf course with friends and family. Whether casting a line at sunrise or sinking a putt on a sunny afternoon, he relished God’s creation and lived with gratitude for each day.
Jimmy was a faithful servant of the Lord, and his life was a reflection of grace, humility, and kindness. His steady presence and warm heart touched all who knew him, and his influence will be felt for generations.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life was held on Sunday, August 3rd, at 3 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in Greenfield. Graveside services followed at the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery in Dadeville, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street Baptist Church.  Online condolences may be shared at www.greenfieldfuneralchapel.com.  Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
