LaDonna Wolfe

LaDonna Gay Wolfe, 68, passed peacefully on July 31 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 15, 1956, in Lockwood, Missouri, to Don and Agnes (Wagahoff) Wolfe. LaDonna graduated from Greenfield High School in 1974 and remained in contact with many of her classmates after graduation.
LaDonna attended Lester E. Cox School of Radiologic Technology and began her career in 1976 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
When she returned to Springfield, she worked for Cox Medical Center while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from SMSU in 1984. She continued her education and earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri in 1993. She taught for a few years before working for the Missouri Department of Health. During her time with the health department, she examined x-ray equipment in medical offices throughout the state. In addition, she also inspected mammography equipment for the FDA. She retired in January 2019.
Before and during her retirement, LaDonna loved working in her beautiful yard raising flowers and plants which she generously shared with family and friends She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles when the colder weather kept her indoors.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Donald Lloyd; sister, Janet Burns; and brother-in-law, Denny Frieze.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Wolfe and wife, Colleen, of Pittsburg, Kansas; sister, Anita Frieze of Joplin; and brother-in-law, Lyle Burns of Greenfield. Survivors also include nieces: Amy Wolfe; Susan Frieze and husband, Jim Burnside; Sarah and Carl Loughery; and Joy and Perry Finley and family; nephew, Gregg Burns and wife, Kim and family; and extended relatives and friends.
A visitation was held at the Greenfield Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 9, beginning at 1 p.m. with the memorial service following at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Lockwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks or charity of the donor’s choice. Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
