It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Ann Stover Phillips. On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 76, Barbara was taken too soon from a motor vehicle accident in Springfield, Missouri. Barbara was born in Bakersfield, California on August 31, 1949, as the youngest child born to Donah Bradford Stover and Edith Elaine Cain Stover.
Barbara Phillips was a woman of immense kindness and unwavering strength, known for her passions for God, democracy, science, nursing, gardening, cooking, all things birds, cows, cats and dogs, her unique sense of humor and her unyielding love for her family. She was particularly proud of her educational achievements including her graduation of Burge School of Nursing in 1984 and how she went on to get her bachelor’s degree in science & nursing, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Drury University in 1996. Barbara was a hard worker and a dedicated employee to Cox Medical Center for nearly 30 years.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Robbie Joe Phillips of Nixa, Missouri, for 35 years, her four children: Rhonda Morris, Jason Webb, Christopher Phillips and Barbi Phillips. Barbara is also survived by five grandchildren: Justin Robb, Daniel Morris, Joshua Wallace, Alexa Webb and Savannah Boothe; three great grandchildren: Jonathan Boothe, Sawyer Webb and Oliver Wallace.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Wilma Chitwood; and her brother, John Stover. Barbara loved many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and was a “Mother” to all.
The family will host a simple and private, family and friends, “Ashes to Dust” ceremony held on their property, “Lucky 13 Acres” in Ash Grove, Missouri, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at dusk.
