November 05, 2025
Carol June Goddard, 83, of Republic, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was born September 3, 1942, in West Plains, Missouri, to James A. and Ada (Young) Mayfield.
On July 3, 1942, Carol and Walter Goddard Jr. were united in marriage and shared over 41 years together, before Walter’s passing in 2015.
Carol was active in her church and had a deep love for studying God’s Word. She was always eager to learn more and spent time reading her Bible. Her faith was strong, and she was ready to be with Jesus.
Carol enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — a good cup of coffee, watching hummingbirds, spicy foods, and chocolate. She loved being outdoors and could often be found taking her daily walks, usually two to three miles each day. Carol also had a passion for traveling and was proud to have visited all 50 states. Above all, she had a caring heart and was especially devoted to caring for her family.
Carol is survived by sons: Kevin Travis Goddard; Gregory Paul Goddard and wife, Tarynn; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Ellis, Bill, Lowell, Ann, Jeannie, Fern; cousins, Linda and Glenda; in-laws, Minnie and Dave; nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ada Mayfield; husband, Walter Goddard; siblings, Doris, Dorothy, Lee, Ruby, Wanda, and Lela.
Graveside services were 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Missouri, with a time of visitation to follow.
Arrangements under the direction of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home.
