Claudia Schnelle

November 05, 2025

Claudia “Jean” (Davis) Hall Schnelle, of Lockwood, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility at the age of 89.
She was born to Hayden and Virgie Davis in Sidney, Arkansas, on January 2, 1936. She became a Christian at an early age, attending the local Baptist Church, and was baptized in a local creek. She grew up on the farm, hoeing cotton in the spring, attending school in the summer, and picking cotton in the fall.
She graduated from high school at the age of 16. Her daddy sold the farm, and they relocated to Batesville, Arkansas, where she worked at a shoe factory from the age of 16 to 19.
She married Ken Hall, and to this union three sons were born: Kenneth Gregory, Roger Mark, and Charles Keith. A car accident tragically claimed her husband’s life and left Jean and her children with many broken bones and a broken heart.
She was later introduced to Harold Schnelle by one of his daughters. When they began to date, they usually had four or five kids tagging along. They were married and came home to eight kids. Heartbreak struck once again as they mourned the loss of son, Alan. But the following year, Harold and Jean welcomed a child of their own, Dwight.
Jean and her sons joined the rest of their blended family in becoming members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood, where she attended faithfully up until her death.
She learned to do many chores around the farm, her favorite being driving a tractor. But she didn’t like picking up rocks, “yuck”.
Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy, especially getting to watch their many ball games. She proudly rooted from the stands, but never saw the end of a close game.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Earlene; brother, LaVerne; her husbands Ken Hall and Harold Schnelle; stepson, Alan; son-in-law, Steve Mayden;and her brother and sister-in-law, Melbert and Doris Schnelle.
Jean is survived by sons: Greg Hall (Germaine), Mark Hall (Sue), Keith Hall (Tammy), Dwight Schnelle (Amanda), Kent Schnelle (Donna); daughters: Elaine Coose (David), Jane Mayden, Joyce Torris (Bob); grandchildren: Kolin Hall (Cris), Lauren Murphy (Adam), Michael Hall, Max Schnelle (Claudia), Henry Schnelle, Emily Counts (Michael), Lacy Eckert (Jonathan), Audrey Poore (Chris), Blake Schnelle (Cheyenne), Shawn Watson (Breean), Tammie Gastel (Ricky), Kyle Mayden (Whitney), Stefany Hastings (Craig), Chance Mayden (Dierdre), Graham Torris; her 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed. Ephesians 2:8-9.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow in Lockwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday at 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
