Carl Pirtle

Carl Maurice Pirtle, age 92, of Stockton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in Lockwood, Missouri.  He was born on April 3, 1933, in rural Dade County, Missouri.  Carl accepted his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age.   

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ella Pirtle, and his wife, Bonnie Pirtle. Carl married Bonnie Louise on July 30, 1954. They lived in Kansas City for three years, both working at Westinghouse, before moving back to the Arcola, Missouri area. 

Carl was a devoted cattleman for over 60 years and worked early on at the Arcola Feed Mill.  He was an active member of Arcola Christian Church and was known for his quiet strength—both physical and moral. Those who knew him well will remember his passion for baseball, snooker, and billiards. 

Carl and Bonnie’s favorite pastime was watching their grandchildren play in various sports and activities. 

He is survived by his sons, Mike (Kathy) of Greenfield, Missouri and Neil (Dawna) of Stockton, Missouri; one sister, Clyta June Whitley of Lamar, Missouri; grandchildren: Travis (Desiree), Katie Lea (Brennen), Sam (Kari), Andy (Mary Beth), Matthew (Felisha), A.J. Roller (Lauren), and Austin Roller; and great-grandchildren: Millie, Elin, Bailey, Tommie, Ashton, Hunter, Drew, Hannah, Brenda and Jackson.  

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8, at 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.  at Arcola Christian Church. Burial followed at Omer Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arcola Christian Church.   

Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
