Cecil Eugene (Gene) “Hoppy” Weaver, 90, of Walnut Grove, Missouri, the son of Porter and Elizabeth (Willard) Weaver was born June 14, 1935, in Galloway, Missouri.
He married Mary (Gregory) Kellner on August 3, 1956.
Gene was a member of Guys Chapel, Willard, Missouri. He was employed by Cloud Furniture and Vermillions in Springfield, Missouri. He retired from Willard High School as custodian in June of 2000.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Weaver; son, Leonard Kellner; parents, Porter and Elizabeth Weaver; siblings: Ed Weaver, Opal Chapman, Dorothy Weaver, Kay Cameron, Barbara Weaver, Bill Weaver, Lloyd Weaver, Faye Sieber, and Maxine Hayes.
Gene is survived by his children: Tony Weaver and wife, Debbie; Donna Parker and husband, Lee; granddaughters, Kaci Comeau and husband, Adam; Lacey Carrick and husband, Richard; Melissa McHenry; Shannon Wilson; grandsons: Jesse Warson, Sean Wilson; five great granddaughters; four great grandsons; five great-great granddaughters; daughter-in-law, Debbie Kellner; and many other family and friends.
Visitation was 1 -2 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Graveside services were 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove.
