Mary Hicks

Mary Lea Hicks, 93, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1932, in Bois D’Arc, Missouri to Karl and Louise (Baldwin) Squibb. 
On January 31, 1954, Mary and Noyd Hicks were united in marriage and shared over 51 years together, before Noyd’s passing. 
Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church. Her faith was central to her life, and she faithfully served her church in many ways, including teaching Sunday School and sharing her musical talents as a pianist and organist for more than 40 years. 
Mary retired from Mid-America Dairy, where she was a dedicated and valued employee. She enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband, Noyd and visiting her granddaughter in Canada. She was very social and loved meeting new friends anywhere she could. All who knew her, spoke of her sweet soul and servant heart. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. 
Mary is survived by her son, Kent Hicks and wife, Paola; granddaughter, Annabelle Rose Hicks; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. 
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Louise Squibb; husband, Noyd Hicks; daughter, Deanna Lee Small; siblings, Erma Owens and Warren Squibb. 
Visitation was 2-4 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Funeral services were 1 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Her final resting place will be White Chapel Memorial Garden, Springfield, Missouri. 
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
