Vicki Diane Lollar, of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in her home at the age of 82.
She was born on April 3, 1943, in Springfield, Missouri, to Thayes and Maxine (Killingsworth) Rook. Vicki graduated from Greenfield High School, and attended Drury College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music education in May of 1964.
She was a proud member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She began her successful career teaching music and was the band director at Clever, then went to Miller and Stockton, and retired from Greenfield.
Vicki was influential in achieving state ranked concert bands throughout her life, and was known by many, as Maestro. She held her bands to a very high standard and was successful in making a small town concert band sound like a professional symphony.
She thoroughly enjoyed her career in music education and loved sharing that passion with all her students, whom she fondly referred to as her “kids”
She was an active member of the Phi Beta Mu International School Bandmaster Fraternity. Vicki also served Greenfield as a City Council Alderman for several terms.
Preceding her in death was her father, Thayes Rook; her mother, Maxine Rook Proctor; her stepfather, Winston Proctor; her former husband and friend, Gary Lollar; and father figure, Carl Kramer.
Survivors include friends that became family: Bonnie Kramer, Susan Killingsworth, Kelly Trask, and Molly Fudge; friend and companion, Pam Fidler; friend, Judy Warren Stefan; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Care to Learn-Greenfield Chapter.
