Barbara Allen

January 14, 2026

Barbara Gail (Ingle) Allen, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 4, 1949, in Lilbourn, Missouri, to Jesse Vernon and Eva Verenia Ann (McGruder) Ingle.
Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. A devoted homemaker for many years, she later became a cosmetologist, a career she cherished.
Barbara never met a stranger, and she treasured every conversation and connection she made. She especially enjoyed her time at Maranatha Village, where she lovingly styled hair and visited with retired missionaries.
Barbara was also a proud and lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, having joined in 1970, and cherished the friendships and sisterhood she found there. Her strong faith guided her life, and she often spoke of her steadfast relationship with God.
Barbara also had a special place in her heart for animals and dearly loved her two dogs, Lila and Wllie, who brought her great joy and companionship.
Barbara is survived by her siblings: Gene Ingle and the late Carol Ingle of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; Jim (Mona) Ingle of Monett, Missouri; and Joann Barnett and the late Richard Barnett of Holts Summit, Missouri. She is also lovingly remembered by her children: Lance (Nancy) Phillips of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; Brooke (Chris) Basquit of Valrico, Florida; Shannon Phillips (Wes Moss) of Everton, Missouri; and Justin (Katie) Phillips of Springfield, Missouri.
Barbara leaves behind her grandchildren: Ravyn (Aaron) Torres of St. Cloud, Florida; Austen (Whitney) Phillips of Springfield, Missouri; Kenzie Phillips of Springfield, Missouri; Abi Phillips of Springfield, Missouri; and Madi Phillips of Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Barbara was a proud great-grandmother to Harper and Eleanor Torres of St. Cloud, Florida, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of Baby Bentley Phillips in 2026.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Faye Parker, who is survived by her husband, Lane Parker.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and by all whose lives were touched by her warmth, kindness, faith, and the love she shared so freely.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to Animal Angels of Rogersville, Missouri, in care of the funeral home.
We love you, Nana.
