Shirley Daniel

Shirley Lea Daniel 91, of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away, on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She was born on April 25, 1935, in Ash Grove, Missouri to Homer and Ruth (Wise) Fortner. 

Shirley was a lifelong area resident. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. Shirley shared her passion and talent of music with the church, playing the piano and organ for over 62 years. She also played for many quartets and other musicians around the area. Shirley will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. 

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Teresa Crawford and husband, Arthur; grandsons, Jonathan Miller and wife, Andrea; Stephen Miller and wife, Katie; Aaron Miller and wife, Ashley; step-grandchildren: Jason Crawford and wife, Michelle; Nikki Medley and husband, Justin; nine great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Ruth Fortner; siblings, Jimmy Ted Fortner and Helen Grant.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Ash Grove First Baptist Church. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., at the church, with burial to follow at Ash Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer Association for research and may be left with the funeral home.
