Joseph Clark Higgins, 80, of Greenfield, Missouri, was born on June 3, 1946 in Springfield, Missouri, to Joseph Earl “Jack” Higgins and Mary Frances (Ellis) Higgins and died on Thursday, July 2, 2026 in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a short stay and hospice care.
Joe’s hometown was Arcola and he lived in Greenfield many years. He was a long distance truck driver most of his working life and later started a lawn mowing service in the Greenfield area. Joe was known to quickly lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors.
He is survived by a son, Jason Higgins of Washington state; a brother, Bill Higgins and wife, Elaine, of Greenfieldi; and a sister, Patricia Russo and husband, Vince, of Greenfield.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Billie Jo Higgins of Washington state.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Arcola Hickory Grove Cemetery with Pastor Larry Wheeler officiating.
Family and friends were welcome to view and pay their respects at their convenience on Tuesday from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arcola Hickory Grove Cemetery.
