Pauline K. Strope, 86, of Springfield-formally Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was born February 18, 1940, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to George and Margaret (Scheppers) Maasen.
On April 1, 1967, Pauline and Leander Strope were united in marriage and shared over 35 years together, before his passing in 2003.
Pauline enjoyed being outdoors, working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed reading, but she really enjoyed doing work with her hands. Pauline put together puzzles, created cross stitch, and embroidered many quilt blocks over the years. Her family and friends will greatly miss her.
Pauline is survived by her children: Rick Strope and wife, Tiffaney; Jeff Strope; Joyce Weatherford and husband, Lonnie; Jennifer Sharp and husband, Randy; Randy Strope and wife, Hannah; eight grandchildren; siblings: Celine, Teresa, Vicki, Beeb, Harold; several nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Maasen; husband, Lee Strope; grandson, Brandon Sharp; and siblings, Ben, Barb, and Helen; daughter-in-law, Vicki Strope.
The family will host a memorial graveside service at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026 at St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Missouri, with lunch to follow at the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St Thomas the Apostle Church.
Services were under the care and direction of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Missouri.
