Tom Hobbs

Thomas Benton Hobbs, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 after a long life, filled with family, adventure and hard work. 

In 1989, Tom moved to Greenfield, Missouri to pursue his hobby in Hobbs family genealogy. This hobby led Tom to become actively involved in the Greenfield community, ranging from substitute teaching at Greenfield High School, to being president of the Dade County Genealogical Society, and becoming a leading patron of the Dade County Library. 

Donations to the Dade County Library, or Dade County Genealogical Society in Tom’s memory would be appeciated..

The Dade County Genealogical Society will be hosting a memorial service for Thomas “Tom” Hobbs, who so graciously gave of his time and sources to Greenfield schools, Dade County library and Genealogy Society,  on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Dade County Senior Center in Greenfield, Missouri.
