Joshua McPhail

Joshua McPhail, 46 of Strafford, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1980, in Springfield, Missouri, to Tommy McPhail and Susan Yocom. 

On May 31, 2013, Josh and Amanda Beyen were united in marriage and shared over 13 years together. 

Josh found joy in the simple things in life and especially enjoyed anything that allowed him to be outdoors. He loved riding four-wheelers and side-by-sides, cruising in his hot rod and admiring others, and spending time cutting wood. Josh was truly a hunter of all things—whether it was deer, fish, shedded antlers, mushrooms, or just about anything else that could be “hunted,” he was always up for the adventure.

Above all else, Josh adored his family and his beloved dogs. He treasured the time spent with those he loved and took great pride in his role as a Papa Osh.  

Josh is survived by his wife, Amanda; children: Megan Medley and husband, Zeb; Gavin Spears; granddaughter Mary and another grandbaby on the way; parents Susan and Arnie Adams, Tom and Denise McPhail; siblings, Chrissi Robinson and Patch, Grace Durst and Colby, Krista Jeffreys and Paul, Chad Adams and Whitney; a host of very beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and many friends. 

Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara Yocom, Charles Yocom, Tom and Sue McPhail; and step-father, Bruce Angel. 

Visitation was held 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2026, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, Missouri.
