Hazel Freeman

Hazel Blehm Freeman, 93, passed away August 30, 2026, in Canon City, Colorado.
She was born on June 16, 1933, in Simla, Colorado, to Ramond and Georgia (Bowman) Hammel.
Hazel was united in marriage to Dean Blehm, and they shared 35 years together and raised five children before his passing.
Hazel was a wonderful homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and took great pride in making a home for those she loved. Hazel also loved music, especially bluegrass, and enjoyed square dancing. Later in life, she found joy in traveling and making new memories.
Hazel is survived by her children, Don Blehm and wife Carol, Cathy Blehm, Jerry Blehm, and Cheryl Sawyer; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Tozier; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Ramond and Georgia Hammel; husband, Dean Blehm; son, Ron Blehm; and brothers, Lenard Hammel and Bill Hammel.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove.
Visitation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Good Samaritan Boys Ranch.
