Lillian Virginia Rasmussen

Lillian Virginia Rasmussen, 95, who resided at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri, left her family on earth to be with her family in heaven Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

She was born September 11, 1921, in Carnsforth, Iowa, to Harry Morton Gwin, and Alma Benton Gwin. They moved to Grinnell, Iowa, where she graduated high school.
On May 14, 1941, Lillian married her high school sweetheart, George (Rasmus) Rasmussen. They had four children: Greg (Nancy) Rasmussen of Lockwood, Missouri; Beverly (Kevin) Stelljes of Fall Creek, Wisconsin; Pam Paulson of Casper, Wyoming, and Doug Rasmussen of Casper, Wyoming.
She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, five sisters and one brother.
Lillian was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bellevue, Nebraska, where she taught Sunday School, served on the board of Deacons, and was active in the Women's Guild.
Lillian was a member of the Eastern Star, Bellevue Women's Club, Offutt Air Force Base Officer's Club, Daughter of the American Revolution, Arbor Society, and the Red Hat Society.

She volunteered for many projects, as well as helping with sports, scouts, and ballet activities for her children. (She sewed many tutus for the ballerinas!!) She loved doing ceramics and her family still enjoys many of the items she created. She loved to shop at the Goodwill Store, and was there so much that she decided to become a volunteer at the store.

At age 61, Lillian studied to become a docent at Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha, where she dedicated 25 years to educating the youth.
