Margaret W. Dimick

Margaret W. Dimick (Smith) wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend, departed this life on June 7, 2015, at the young age of 90 at Seasons Care Center in Kansas City.
She was born on April 29, 1925, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Margaret was a resident of the Good Shepard RCF & Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri, for 8 years before moving to Kansas City, where she loved bingo, crossword puzzles, bowling, exercise and her friends.
Her life was full of fun, travel, adventure and living in many major cities with her husband, John, who was a retail executive and race-car driver.
She loved raising her two sons, Jeffrey and David, and was very involved with everything they did.
She retired in 1985, was friends with President George and Barbara Bush and was very active in the Texas Republican Party. Margaret was an accomplished golfer, loved to dance, and made beautiful needle-point creations.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Jeffrey; sisters, Rose and Vivian; and parents, Clarence Barton and Maria Smith.
She is survived by her son, David, of Kerriville, Texas; brother, CB and wife, Ann Smith, of Johnson County, Tennessee; and her treasured nieces, Sharon White and Debby Hayes and husband, Roger, of Kansas City.
Margaret was quite a lady and a true Southern Belle who will be missed by everyone.
Margaret made arrangements to have her body donated to the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri.
Her cremains will be buried next to her sister, Rose, at a future date.
If anyone wants to honor her in any way, they should donate to their local hospice.
